Description
This is a 'delivery' of X-Dimension from Halifax, NS to Northeast Harbor ME, following the completion of the Marblehead-Halifax race.
In the past we have had one person who has jumped ship in Halifax to fly off to a job, and as a results there's an available bunk for the trip back. This time we thought we'd make this spot available to someone who would like to be on board for the delivery.
Please note that this is not a sailing delivery; we usually motor most of the ~ 250 nautical miles to Northeast Harbor. It is usually foggy at times, and it can be cold - the coldest I've ever felt was on on this return trip. Selected crew would be expected to arrive in Halifax in time for a noon departure on Thursday 13 July; we usually make it to Northeast Harbor the evening of Saturday (15 July). The delivery crew will drive back to Boston on Sunday 16 July.
To make this trip you will need to be able to re-enter the U.S. at Northeast Harbor, ME so a valid passport/visa are necessary. You should have some sailing experience on X-Dimension, and be willing to share tight quarters with 7 relative strangers. You will stand watch, so if you are looking for experience with multi-day offshore passages this could be for you.
We likely will not know if there will be a space until early or mid-July; so you would have to be flexible as well.
