Directions to Nevermore
Nevermore is moored off of Rowes Wharf at the Boston Harbor Sailing Club. Please note that the Sailing Club launch no longer picks people up at the dock used in previous years. Starting in 2008, the Boston Harbor Sailing Club launch picks people up at the Odyssey Dock 8 at Gate B next to the Rotunda on Rowes Wharf.
There is a radio call box at the dock which is set to channel 10 to hail the launch boat. If you have your own radio, you can also have the launch pick you up at the dock behind the Barking Crab restaurant (next to the Northern Ave. footbridge).
Walking Directions from MBTA
Rowes Wharf is about a quarter mile south of the Aquarium stop on the Blue Line and about half a mile NE of the South Station stop on the Red Line. From Aquarium, walk south along Atlantic Ave until you get to the giant archway at the Boston Harbor Hotel. From South Station, walk NE along Atlantic Ave until you reach the giant arch.
Once you get to the arch on Atlantic Ave., walk through it, and then make a quick right turn before you get to the water. You're looking for "Gate B" which is to the right of the large, domed rotunda. Go through Gate B, walk down the ramp, and look for the radio call box on a short pole directly in front of the cruise ship, Odyssey.
Hail the launch on the radio call box (which should be set to VHF channel 10). There should be a microphone clipped to the side of the box. Press the button on the side of the mic and call "Boston Harbor Sailing Launch" and ask for a ride out to Nevermore.
The "launch" is an open motorboat operated by the Boston Harbor Sailing Club. The launch will pick you up next to the radio call box. Ask the launch driver for a ride out to Nevermore.
Parking Near Rowes Wharf
Weekends:There is some on street parking weeknights and weekends in the financial district (High St/India St/Broad St area) but you must feed the meters and obey the time limits on the meters (except Sunday). Some commercials spaces can be used on Saturday, some cannot. Be careful. Sundays are free-for-alls and may be harder to find an on-street space but if you find one it's likely to be free all day.
There is a garage at One International Place almost directly across from the Boston Harbor Hotel (about a half-block south and across the street from the arch) that has all-day parking for $7 on weekends and holidays. It costs much more on weekdays.
Weekdays: There are a number of all-day parking lots along Northern Ave. (across the Seaport Ave. Bridge) between the Federal Court House and the Institute for Contemporary Art. They range in price between $11 and $15 per day. Some of these lots charge extra if you stay overnight so check ahead for weekend trips.
You can walk back to Rowes Wharf by crossing the wooden foot bridge. At the very end of the bridge you can turn right through a gate and walk along the water's edge to Rowes Wharf. Walking time 10-15 minutes.
