Description

Want to get familiar with the new, incoming fleet of 7th generation Tech Dinghies? This orientation is geared towards sailors who have taken a Learn-to-Sail course (in Catboats/Fireflies) as well as experienced sailors who are new to MIT Sailing.

Class attendees must have current access to DAPER facilities (included for all MIT students!).

This brief orientation does not include structured sailing time unless otherwise noted. However, if you want to take out your own boat after the rigging demo, you are welcomed and encouraged to do so!

Class will be about an hour long and includes:

  • Rigging demo of a 7th gen Tech Dinghy
  • Knot practice
  • Orientation of Pavilion if new to MIT
  • Opportunity to ask questions, discuss sailing tips, etc.

Requirements:

  • You know how to sail singlehandedly and rig a small boat of some kind.
  • You are a member of the MIT community cleared for access to DAPER facilities

Registration:

Registration is open.

Click the "Registration" link above in the red menu bar (when available) to register.

Confirmations for class spots will be first-come, first-serve.
