Introduction to the Sailing Pavilion and the Tech Dinghy for Experienced Sailors new to MIT Sailing.

This includes those who have sailed the Tech Dinghy in the past and want to learn how to rig a new 7th generation Tech Dinghy.

Class attendees must have current access to DAPER facilities (included for all MIT students!).

This one-day class will be about 1.5 - 2 hours long and will cover:

  • Tour of the facility - what we have and where it all is - how you can use it.
  • Detailed rigging demo of a Tech Dinghy.
  • Launching and landing demos

 

Requirements:

  • You want to sail at MIT.
  • You can swim.
  • You know how to sail singlehandedly and rig a small boat of some kind.
  • You are a member of the MIT community or have an MIT Recreation membership.
