Description

In August we traveled to Gloucester for dinner, and then sail back through the night to Boston.

For this sail, we will sail where the wind takes us (and back). It could be Gloucester, it could be Plymouth, it could be somewhere in Mass Bay.

We will meet at Waterboat marina at 9:39 AM  on Saturday (directions: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XsVdzAYbvY2wqgk7A) and then set sail. We should get back to Boston early Sunday morning. Obviously we will know more about the destination the more the weather forecast firms up; right now the models don't agree.

PLease note that we will choose some crew based on the needs of the boat. This is a sail for folks who have been on the boat before.

Also note that we will be sailing in Mass. Bay, where there is a much greater chance for becoming seasick than in the harbor or on the river.

Note: this trip is weather-dependent; we might need to cancel at the last minute.

Things to bring:

  • Water (a lot, it's a long day)
  • Appropriate layers and sun protection for the weather (it's usually colder on the water but sun is stronger)
  • Shoes for the boat (clean shoes that you didn't wear on the streets or thoroughly cleaned)
  • Food (bring lunch and a snack to share:)).

Optional:

  • Sailing gloves
  • crew sheet if you're working towards a crew rating (note: there will be a new crew sheet this season)

Please leave jewellery ashore.
