Description

Have you wished you could visit Thompson Island, closest and one of largest of the harbor islands, but thought it was only for Outward Bound? Disappointed there's only been one harbor trip so far this season? Then this is the trip for you!

We are taking a trip with two Lynxes into Boston Harbor, planning to land on Thompson Island before sailing back in the afternoon, hopefully completing a circumnavigation. On the island, we can eat lunch, go for a swim if you want, walk around and explore its beaches, woods, and central lagoon, and see the remarkable ropes course. There is public access on weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day. We'll anchor near the sandy spit at the southern end near Squantum and wade ashore, so be prepared for getting your feet wet. The island does have bathrooms (albeit not near where we are landing) but no food sales like on Spectacle Island.

We will be leaving from the sailing pavilion around 9 AM, and will be back around 6 PM (depending on wind!). High tide is at 1:15 PM. Bring a lunch, water, sunscreen, swimsuit if you are interested in swimming, and clothes to keep you warm and dry. We will confirm entries by noon Friday.
