Description
We will be practicing docking manoeuvres in Boston Harbor at 5pm on Helios, a Scampi 30 sailboat, and then sailing Mashnee starting around 7. Please note that Helios is not owned by MIT and the docking practice on Helios will not be part of the official MIT Sailing event. However, sailors of all experience levels with active sailing cards are invited to sign up and join for both parts of the sail.
We will be sailing from the Barking Crab Marina, meeting in front of the Barking Crab restaurant, about 12 minutes' walk from South Station. Note that this is not where regular MIT sails meet.
Non-marking shoes that have not been worn in the streets are required, as sand and dirt from street shoes will scratch the sailboat decks. Bring water and food, and warm clothing as it will be cooler on the water in the evening. Sailing gloves (or other work gloves) are recommended.
