Description

Class will meet rain or shine.  Sign in on the sign-in sheet on the front counter.  
Full sail is always recommended.  I hope to teach you the techniques so that you can push yourself to the next level. 

Class 1

  • Introduce self
  • Class structure
    • partially rigged, sailing card up, sign-in
    • talk for ~15-20 minutes
    • Start racing 
    • available for a few questions at the end
  • Three minute start
  • Modified triangle race course
  • Setting up boat the right way
  • Run a few races

Class 2:

  • recap
  • Tell-tales
    • shroud tell-tales for downwind sailing
    • sail tell-tales for perfecting sail trim
  • Headers/ Lifts
    • tack when headed to sail lifted
  • Are you sailing towards the mark?
  • Run a few races

Class 3:

  • recap
  • roll tacks
    • be sure to look before you tack so you don't run into anyone!
  • run a few races with 10 tack quota before windward mark

Class 4:

  • Normal Tech Dinghy Race course
    • start - windward mark - leeward gate - finish (upwind, between two balls)
  • Upwind sailing
  • Downwind sailing
  • Wind shadows, dirty air, and finding a lane
  • Run a few race
  • Debrief
    • boomvang 
    • JC strap

Class 5: 

  • TBD - show up to find out!
