Learn to Race 2022 Recap

Class 1

  • Introduce self
  • Class structure
    • partially rigged, sailing card up, sign-in
    • talk for ~15-20 minutes
    • Start racing 
    • available for a few questions at the end
  • Three minute start
  • Modified triangle race course
  • Setting up boat the right way
  • Run a few races

Class 2:

  • recap
  • Headers/ lifts
  • Tell-tales
    • Shroud tell-tales 
    • Forestay tell-tale for downwind sailing
  • Are you sailing towards the mark?
  • Run a few races
  • Rudderless sailing

Class 3:

  • Recap
  • Roll tacks
  • Are you sailing towards the mark?
  • Steering with the sail/ boat trim

Class 4:

  • Recap
  • Normal tech Dinghy race course
  • Downwind sailing

Class 5:

  • Classroom only

Class 8:

  • Mark Roundings

  • Novice Regatta!
