Description
This 120 minute class teaches how to skipper and crew a variety of boats fast upwind and downwind. Other topics covered are: starting, tactics, strategy, right of way rules. Participants must be proficient sailors and have completed the basic sailing course or its equivalent.
Prerequisite: Students must attend the first 2 classes. Successfully complete swim and boat test by Thu 9/10/20. MUST attend first 2 classes. Participants must be proficient sailors and have completed the basic sailing course or its equivalent. This course is modified in-person and will be held outdoors with Zoom rain back up. Students must adhere to the MIT COVID guidelines in order to participate in this modified in-person course. Face covering and social distancing required.
Equipment: Filled water bottle. Synthetic, warm clothing recommended. Note: there are no restrooms available in the Sailing Pavilion.
