Congratulations to DAYS OF THUNDER for earning the title of 2016 Charles River Open Team Race Champions!

 

The Charles River Team Race returns in 2016 on the weekend of June 25-26. Up to 24 teams will be accepted with racing taking place in MIT's fleets of Turbo FJs and Collegiate Fireflies. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. For questions, please contact event chair Jeff Dusek.

Entry: 

General: $100 per boat

MIT / NU: $75 per boat

Teams will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis by completed entry

An entry is considered complete when all three boats have registered (crews can be left as tbd)

*** The MIT registration system will not allow payment until 3 weeks before the event. Teams not paid by June 20 will forfeit their entry slot and be moved to the waitlist (if applicable).

We will initially accept 16 teams. We will then accept groups of teams until 24 is reached.

Weight Limit:

870 per team as per Hinman rules. Weigh in on Saturday, random spot checks during event.

Preliminary Schedule (subject to change):

June 25:

8:00 am registration and weigh in opened

8:30 am skippers meeting

9:00 am start racing

dinner to follow racing

June 26:

9:00 am start racing

Format:

Modified swiss league. Initial groups will be seeded in a super-precise and very secret process....

Finals on Sunday tbd if time permits

Divisions:

Open

Junior: Not to have sailed in college or exceeded 19 years of age
