Description

It’s time to gear up for the 2026 Beringer Bowl! This is a fantastic 50 NM offshore race to Provincetown, and I’m looking forward to getting Mashnee back out on the course. Please review the event details and prerequisites below if you are interested in joining the crew for this year’s race. Race & Schedule Start: Friday, July 17 at 12:00 PM. Course: 50 NM from Boston to Provincetown. Weekend Plan: We will moor in Provincetown on Friday and Saturday nights, with a return trip to Boston on Sunday morning. Safety Note: Participation is strictly contingent on a safe weather window for both the transit to P-town and the return leg. Crew Selection & Prerequisites I will be selecting a crew of 7 for this race. Priority: Given the offshore nature of this event, priority will be given to those with prior racing experience aboard Mashnee. Safety Requirement: At least 30% of our crew (3 people) must hold an active Offshore Safety at Sea Certificate. Please let me know if your certification is current when you reply. Registration: Opens June 1 and Ends June 15 Deadline: Final crew selection will be made by June 15th. Logistics & Costs Sleeping Arrangements: Mashnee sleeps four down below, which means three crew members will be sleeping topside/outside. We will finalize specific sleeping assignments closer to the date. Return Trip: You have the option to sail back with the boat on Sunday or take the ferry from Provincetown to Boston. We need a minimum of 4 crew members to sail the boat home. Expenses: This will be a shared-cost weekend. Crew will split all shared expenses, including food, water, and launch fees. Ryan
