Charles River Open Team Race

The Charles River Team Race returns in 2015 on the weekend of June 13-14. Up to 24 teams will be accepted with racing taking place in MIT's fleets of Turbo FJs and Collegiate Fireflies. General: $100 per boat

MIT/NU: $75 per boat

Teams will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis by completed entry

An entry is considered complete when all three boats have registered (crews can be left as tbd)

*** The MIT registration system will not allow payment until 3 weeks before the event. Teams not paid by June 8 will forfeit their entry slot and be moved to the waitlist (if applicable).

We will initially accept 18 teams. We will then accept groups of 6 teams until 24 is reached.

Weight Limit:

870 per team as per Hinman rules. Weigh in on Saturday, random spot checks during event.


June 13:

8:00 am registration and weigh in opened

8:30 am skippers meeting

9:00 am start racing

dinner to follow racing

June 14:

9:00 am start racing


Modified swiss league. Initial groups will be seeded in a super-precise and very secret process....

Finals on Sunday tbd if time permits



Junior: Not to have sailed in college or exceeded 19 years of age
