Description
This year, we're offering a formal RYA Day Skipper course during IAP. RYA Day Skipper is a comprehensive introduction to navigation, chartwork, weather for sailors, and basics of seamanship. This will be an in-depth companion to the practical sailing skills developed with MIT's bluewater program on Mashnee. This is valuable information for any level of sailor. It is also an internationally-recognized certificate and can be a springboard for those looking to skipper their own large boats or acquiring certifications to charter internationally.
The class will meet Monday-Friday 9am-1pm for two weeks starting Monday, January 6th. Participants will need to purchase textbook and course materials, which will cost approximately $100. Materials will be ordered on December 15th.
