Description

This series of one-day intermediate classes will continue with “What’s Next” after your Learn To Sail class.

  • Effective upwind & downwind sailing

  • Proper sail trim

  • Boat/crew weight trim

  • Centerboard trim

  • Proper use of the tiller extension while sailing, tacking, and gybing

There will be a brief classroom session on concepts, then into single-handed Tech dinghies for on-the-water practice & coaching. This will prepare you for the sailing, tacking, and gybing sections of the Provisional rating.

Due to the close, on-the-water coaching, class size is currently limited to SIX (6) sailors per class. More classes may be added, and class sizes may be expanded according to demand.

Requirements

You must have a current, valid MIT Sailing Card

Provisional Rating is NOT required. Have sailed 3-4 times independently after your Learn-To-Sail class

Know your knots

Know how to rig and launch a Tech Dinghy independently!
