Description
This 2-session class is meant to prepare for the provisional test and will be focused on single-handed sailing in Tech dinghies. We will not necessarily be signing off on any items or administering the test (or we may!). We will be reviewing and practicing the topics covered by the test including:
- Tacking/Jybing
- Use of the tiller extension
- Man overboard
- Rules of the road
Instruction will be both on-and-off the water. Prerequisite is that you should have taken a learn-to-sail class within the last year and be comfortable rigging the tech dinghy without assistance (see here). Be sure to review the Guide to Sailing at MIT beforehand. This class will be limited to 7 participants. Sign-ups open on June 14th.
