The current plan is that the race crew will take the boat to Southwest Harbor in Maine, arriving on the morning of Sunday July 14. There, we will swap out crew.

We are planning to have two major legs on the return back to Boston:

  1. Southwest Harbor to Portland, ME (arriving on the 16th, 17th, or 18th).
  2. Portland to Boston (arriving on the 19th, 20th, or 21st).

For leg 1, the crew will be:

  • Ulric Ferner 857-919-6911
  • Eyal Dechter 310-871-1486
  • David Strubbe 312-731-2427

X Dimension has a space reserved at Dysart's Great Harbor Marina in Southwest Harbor (44° 16.490' N, 68° 19.451 W) on Sunday, July 14. She will wait there until the boat clears customs.
  • Wednesday, July 17 - Depart Portland, sail to Portsmouth, NH

Transportation

Car

This is certainly the most flexible option. Ted can provide two cars, but will have limited room for gear, cushions, provisions, and the outboard motor. We may be able to use Scott's minivan if we can locate it. Cost: gas for 2 vehicles for 600 miles each: ~$240.

Other Transportation Options

  • Greyhound: Boston to Bangor: 3 trips per day, ~4-1/2 hours, $45/person.
  • Bar Harbor Shuttle: Bangor to Bar Harbor: 4 trips per day, ~1-1/2 hours: $40/person
  • Amtrak: Boston to Portland: $20/person
