This is a list of things to do to make the boat ready for the sailing season.
Early Spring/Pre-Launch
Admin
- Set launch date with Dions (Matt)
- Coordinate sail returns from North (Matt)
- Confirm Waterboat Marina slip (Matt/Stew)
- Renew registration for Mashnee and dinghy (Stew)
- Renew TowBoat US membership (Stew)
Gear
- Order replacement batteries, inflator kits, etc. from list made last season
- Inspect PFDs: inflation test, AIS battery tests, light battery tests, inflator expiration dates
- Inspect tethers and jacklines for wear
- Inspect Danbuoy, EPIRB, safety light batteries
- Inspect flares
- Inventory and restock medical kit
- Review tool bag; rust-bust or get new tools as needed
- Replace running rigging as needed
- Scrape and re-paint dinghy bottom
Once Launch is Confirmed
- Return any gear necessary for launch and mast stepping (docklines, rigging, etc.) before launch date
- Ensure that safety gear is on boat, fully inspected and refreshed, before transit
- Arrange for someone to bring dinghy to Waterboat ahead of transit
