2025-26 Offseason Work

Hull and woodwork:

• Renew Bottom Paint (Dions)
• Renew topsides paint (Dions)
• Maintain varnish on deck structures (Dions)
• Repair cracked/broken varnish on bowsprit (Dions)
• Inspect dark spots under fittings at top of mast for rot (Dions)
  • Specifically: the spacer block under the forestay tang and the screws holding bronze strips to prevent halyard chafe
• Re-bed spacer block under forestay tang: bedding is cracking around the edges (Dions)
• Plane edges of soleboards/floorboards so they don't stick (Dions)
• Repair/replace block on the forward hatch for the strut and reattach strut (Dion's or MIT: we can bring the hatch to the pavilion)

Sails and canvas:

• Repair 95 and 160 at North
• Patch working jib (MIT)
• Renew spreader patches on 160 (MIT)
• Verify status of 140 and green spinnaker - are these still at North?
• Replace foot battens in 160 (North)
• Price out top-down furler for spinnaker
• New mast boot (Libby)

Rigging:

• End for end mainsheet (Libby)
• Decide on replacement timeline for main halyard, topping lift, red fleck spin halyard, and spin sheets (MIT)
  • Probably: replace topping lift and/or main halyard (MIT - Dan)
• Repair/replace jib car pins
• Wash salt from standing rigging and inspect for rust damage (At Dion's--will Dion's do this?)
• Thump mat or puddening for Code Zero furler (MIT)
• See if we can remove a shackle from the backstay to allow for better tensioning (MIT?)
• Re-seat pin holding lower end of bobstay (Dions)
• Inspect fitting that holds forestay to bowsprit for rust (Dions)

Engine:

• Winterize engine (Dions)
• Change oil and filters (Dions)
• Change raw water impeller (Dions)
• Change zincs (Dions)

Systems:

• Fix leak in bilge pump outflow (should be within MIT capabilities)
• Renew gasket/insulation around edge of the forward engine comparment/companionway stairs
• Replace joker valve proactively (MIT)

Gear:

• New inflator for DanBuoy (got a new cartridge summer 2025; not installed)

Admin:

• Renew registration for Mashnee and dinghy
• Get copies of Safe Boating Certificates for all skippers to keep on boat
