This is a list of things to do to make the boat ready for the sailing season.
General Pre-Launch Tasks
- Set a launch date with Dions
- Confirm waterboat marina slip
- Return all equipment to the boat from the pavilion
- Scrape dinghy bottom of all barnacles and repaint with new antifouling
- Renew dinghy registration (ask the Dockmaster)
- Renew Mashnee mooring permit (ask the Dockmaster)
- Review toolbag for completeness and function (e.g. wire brush off any rust)
- Put new batteries in everything
Safety
- Inspect fire extinguishers (date)
- Inspect safety equipment (flares for expiration date)
- Ensure tethers are all in good working order
- Test MOB1 devices
- Inspect PFDs (inflation check, dates on inflator cartridges)
- Inventory medical kit and check all expiration dates -- refresh as needed
Electronics
- check battery levels
