This is a list of things to do to make the boat ready for the sailing season.

Early Spring/Pre-Launch

Admin

  • Set launch date with Dions (Matt)
  • Coordinate sail returns from North (Matt)
  • Confirm Waterboat Marina slip (Matt/Stew)
  • Renew registration for Mashnee and dinghy (Stew)
  • Renew TowBoat US membership (Stew)

Gear

  • Order replacement batteries, inflator kits, etc. from list made last season
  • Inspect PFDs: inflation test, AIS battery tests, light battery tests, inflator expiration dates
  • Inspect tethers and jacklines for wear
  • Inspect Danbuoy, EPIRB, safety light batteries
  • Inspect flares
  • Inventory and restock medical kit
  • Review tool bag; rust-bust or get new tools as needed
  • Replace running rigging as needed
  • Scrape and re-paint dinghy bottom

Once Launch is Confirmed

  • Return any gear necessary for launch and mast stepping (docklines, rigging, etc.) before launch date
  • Ensure that safety gear is on boat, fully inspected and refreshed, before transit
  • Arrange for someone to bring dinghy to Waterboat ahead of transit
