This is the checklist of things to do before leaving the boat.

• hang guppy from stern, about 2 feet into the water. route cable through steering wheel and clip to backstay.
• remove ensign from stern, stow in port shelf of v berth.
• remove mitna flag, stow in port cabinet of main cabin.
• remove RADAR reflector, stow in _______________where?
• remove GPS, stow in ___________________ where?
• close hatches (there are 2) and window ports (there are 9)
• close head valves (there are 2)
• tidy up
  • wipe kitchen surfaces
  • sweep/wipe cabin floor
  • sweep/wipe cockpit surfaces
  • wash/scrub topsides with freshwater
• make/complete log entry, including:
  • date and time
  • engine hours
  • name of person making the entry
  • enumeration of things that were repaired, need to be repaired, will soon need to be repaired.
  • thumbnail outline of the cruise, such as where went, activities, weather.
• request launch service (by VHF, or air-horn).
• set main breaker to 'off'.
• set bilge pump switch UP (NOTE: no "auto" operation temporarily (Aug-Oct07))
• set both battery switches to 'off'.
• close engine controls cover.
• install companionway boards.
• lock cabin, starboard lazarette, stern lazarette.
