This is the checklist of things to do before leaving the boat.
- set main breaker to 'off'.
- set both battery switches to 'off'.
- hang guppy from stern, about 2 feet into the water. route cable through steering wheel and clip to backstay.
- remove ensign from stern, stow in port shelf of v berth.
- remove mitna flag, stow in port cabinet of main cabin.
- close hatches (there are 2) and window ports (there are 9)
- close head valves (there are 2)
- tidy up
- wipe kitchen surfaces
- sweep/wipe cabin floor
- sweep/wipe cockpit surfaces
- wash/scrub topsides with freshwater
- make/complete log entry, including:
- date and time
- engine hours
- name of each person on board
- enumeration of things that were repaired, need to be repaired.
- install companionway boards.
- lock cabin, starboard lazarette, stern lazarette.
