Mashnee Planning Meeting

Mon 09-Dec-201916:00-17:30

Description

Dear MIT Bluewater sailors-

Yesterday Matt Wall and I took a trip to Darlings Boatworks in Vermont to inspect in detail all of Mashnee both inside and outside. The boat is well tucked away with a shelter around the entire boat and a very wet gravel floor beneath. Yes, it was snowing!

It would be nice to have a brief meeting at the sailing pavilion on Monday, December 9 from 1600 until 1730. Not a second more....

Potential Schedule Items for 2020- We need to hear from you and what you might want to do and take a leadership role in.

In the River through Commencement- Open access to all. Fund raising sails, bare foot black tie? catered?  Targeted crew learning sessions while in River.

Figawi? Before Commencement...

Mystic Seaport Show

Mass Bay PHRF races, evening Boston phrf races

Maine races in late July

Corinthian Classics

Gloucester Schooner Festival

Opera Cup in Nantucket

Herreshoff Regatta

Newport Classics Regatta

Great Chase Race in Hull

Deliver to Dion's in Salem immediately after GCR

Delivery sails to and from all of these cool events

Target who wants to be new crew and working towards skippers of Mashnee.

Get more undergrads competent to take boat themselves. Recent and former Boston sailing alums who have time should be targeted, too.

Non- MIT affiliates must make firm commitment to assist Eric Gibber with L-to-S lessons. No exceptions. Six or twelve month athletic memberships for alums and non-affiliates.

Looking forward to seeing you in early December. If you have things to add, please write back directly to me instead of copying the entire list.

Many thanks. Next year will be a blast and promises many new adventures for all on Mashnee.

-Franny
